Unlike most competitors, Apple TVs don’t employ automatic content recognition (ACR), a common method that silently scans what you watch to feed advertisers. From setup onward, Apple offers users clear choices to disable Siri, location services, and data sharing, making privacy a priority by default rather than an afterthought. The device’s tvOS also enforces app tracking transparency, requiring third-party apps to request permission before monitoring user activity—a feature few rivals match.

However, privacy on Apple TV isn’t absolute.
